The Replacements to Play Three Riot Fests, First Shows in 22 Years

The Replacements

Rewind to July 4, 1991: in Chicago, the Replacements played what was then their final show.  For one of the most commercially successful alternative rock bands of the 1980s, it was a sad day for music and has only caused the fervor surrounding the band to only grow more over the years.

Last fall, members Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson announced a partial reunion to record an EP called Songs for Slim, a collection of covers with proceeds going to raise money for former Replacements guitarist Slim Dunlap, who suffered a stroke.  Today, the Replacements have confirmed that they will headline three Riot Fests in Chicago, Toronto, and Denver.

Stinson and Westerberg are confirmed as part of the lineup with the rest of the lineup to be announced in the near future.
