This is my favorite song by The Cure, hands down. It probably is for many of you out there, too, and that’s all right. This song is beautiful instrumentally and vocally to the point where you’d have to be crazy not to like the song.
Like any love song, or song that evokes such emotions, memories are attached to a song like this. I know this is the case for me, but I’m not a liberty to disclose those things. 😛
For a Friday night… “Friday I’m in Love” would have probably been the better choice, but this song trumps it for me. Maybe I’m just really in the mood for this song today.
A little history on the song: the song was written by frontman Robert Smith as a gift to his wife for their wedding. Pretty snazzy, eh? The song appears on The Cure’s eighth studio album, Disintegration, and was the third single released off the album.
