“Ice Age” by Joy Division is a short and sweet post-punk track released on the album Still, which is a compilation of unreleased studio material and a recording of Joy Division’s last live concert.
The song is roughly two and a half minutes of a stripped down and raw makeshift music that I don’t hear much of in today’s music. There are many bands influenced by the sound of Joy Division, but none can replicate the same darkness and foreboding undertones attributed to their music. Little did the world know that the lyrics of many Joy Division songs were the foreshadowing of the death of lead singer, Ian Curtis.
